About the Conference

BSHI 2010 will be held in Edinburgh on 29th September to 1st October. A strong scientific programme has been prepared to update members on developments in H&I in support of clinical organ, tissue/cell transplantation and transfusion. International, national and local speakers will deliver a programme which will be a prime training opportunity for those interested in the rapidly developing applications of Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics to clinical medicine. Scotland is leading the world in developments for stem cell therapies for clinical application and this will be a theme running throughout the conference. Social events will include the traditional trade cheese and wine get together, an optional Ghost Walk of the atmospheric Old Town of Edinburgh and the Main Dinner at the RCPE with a ceilidh and disco.

Edinburgh is a World Heritage City with stunning architecture both old and new; as a bustling capital of Scotland and a major European city it offers everything which delegates will need to enjoy and benefit from the 2010 BSHI Conference. The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE) offers modern conference facilities, is located centrally and is convenient for all ranges of accommodation.

An important component of BSHI 2010 will be the exhibition which will be open to commercial partners to present their products and developments to delegates. Careful planning of the exhibition will ensure that exhibitors will have maximum exposure to delegates throughout the conference. Those interested in supporting BSHI 2010 by exhibiting or sponsoring sessions/entertainment at the conference are directed to the 'sponsorship and exhibition opportunities' section of the website for details.
